a-england Avalon layered with Nails Inc Franklins Row

I have had Nails Inc Franklins Row for a while, I got it as part of the Paparazzi Collection on QVC.  I have only worn it once and did like it but thought the duochrome was stronger in the bottle than on the nail.  I could always see more of the blue and only hints of the purple, mostly due to the flecks through it, and it just wasn't as strong as I would have liked.

I decided to try layering to see if I could bring out more of the purple as I haven't actually tried this before with these kinds of colours and I was happy with the result to be honest.

My first 'go to' of purple polishes was a-england Avalon (which I have previously shown here), if any polish needed more purple, this would be the one to give it.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 1 of Avalon, 1 of Franklins Row and 1 of the Shield.

The above pictures were all taken under my usual spotlight but there was a quick burst of sun just as I got home from work so I managed to snap a few hand shots which show the colour difference better.

I don't say this very often but I would suggest clicking on the pictures to get more detail to see the colour better.

I hope you enjoyed my first layering attempt and I will probably have another try shortly and any comments are welcome xx

Kleancolor Metallic Sapphire

I really seem to be wearing a lot of blue polishes recently, so I have for you today Kleancolor Metallic Sapphire.

This is a very rich blue, and Sapphire is the perfect name to describe this colour.  It has the same foil finish as the Metallic Red and looked so pretty on the nail.  The application of this was very easy and I could have probably got away with 1 coat, but I done 2, as usual.

This is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish and 1 coat of the Shield.

Thanks for looking <3 xx

a-england Elaine with Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple

Yey, a post about an a-england polish.  I have been trying ever so hard to space the last few Mythicals I have to show you out as I don't want to completely run out of posts with too much time left before the new collection is available.

I have for you all today Elaine which is quite a dark smoky purple and I love it.  As per usual with a-england polishes, 1 coat would give good enough coverage to wear but I generally always do 2 coats, more out of habit than anything else.  This is a great cream polish and is not streaky at all when going on.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Elaine and no top coat.

As you know I also just received a lot of the Kleancolor polishes and I though Chunky Holo Purple would look great over Elaine.  I love the finish of this polish, and the way it changes colours through green, yellow, orange and red  caught my eye more than a few times today.

This is the above mani with 1 coat of Chunky Holo Purple and 1 coat of the Shield.

Thanks for looking<3 xx

Kleancolor Holo Blue

I have for you today another Kleancolour polish, I decided to take a break from the Metallics and show you one of the Holos.

The first one I decided to try from the holo selection was the blue, it just kind of jumped out of the box at me when I looked.

This polish is very sheer, and seems to have an almost jelly look to it but I actually quite like the finish it has, which is unusual for me as I love full coverage normally.

All the holos in the collection look like they will have the same finish when I look at them in the bottle, but I won't know for sure until I try them on the nail.  Also, with this collection, it looks like the same holo glitter in each and it is just the base colour that is different.

Here is 1 coat of the Knight, 3 (thin) coats of the polish and 1 coat of the Shield.

Thanks for looking and please feel free to leave me a comment xx

Nails Inc Candy Shop Collection

Today I have for you the Nails Inc Candy Shop Collection that was released over the summer.

This was one of the new collections that Nails Inc released that caught my eye, and the name 'Candy Shop' kind of sold it for me as previous collections with similar names eg 'Ice Cream' and 'Sorbet' are collections I loved.

There are 3 very nice cream pastel colours in this set (Cambridge, Oxford and Wimbledon) and 1 iridescent colour (Richmond).  I love all 3 of the creams, usual great Nails Inc application and coverage in 2 coats.  Now it is not often I say this about any polish but I do not like Richmond at all.  I feel it does not fit with the rest of the collection, another cream would have been more welcome.  I also do not like the application of Richmond, it is very sheer, I could still see visible nail line with 3 coats.

Anyway, saying that, here is the Candy Shop Collection, all pictures are 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish and no top coat.

First I have for you Cambridge which is a very delicate lilac colour.

Next we have Oxford which is a baby blue.

Then we have Wimbledon which is a pale lime.

Lastly we have Richmond, I have only included 1 picture of it in this post as the colour was very hard to capture on camera and I also apologise about the funny colour of my hands in the below picture, my camera just did not like this colour and this was the best one to capture the polish colour accurately.

So if you like pale pastel creams, I would recommend this collection as all 3 of the creams are great.

I hope you like and please feel free to leave a comment xx

Kleancolor Metallic Black

I have for you today another Kleancolor polish, and I still have quite a few more to come.....

The next one on my list to try was Metallic Black, this is a black polish with silver shimmer running through it.

I haven't worn any of the Kleancolor polishes for more than a day yet, so as far as durability goes I can't comment but I am really impressed with these colours in terms of ease of application and coverage.

This is 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of Metallic Black and 1 of the Shield.

Thanks for looking and please feel free to leave any comments xx

Kleancolor Metallic Red

Let me start this post with an apology for being away for so long, I have been super busy at work this week and have not have the energy at night to paint.....photo.....edit.....write....etc etc but I am back now and with some super news....

First of all, I bought and received Lancelot a few days ago, which makes me really happy as now my a-england Mythicals Collection is complete!!

Also, I received my Kleancolor polishes from America today, got a bit of a big haul so it was like Christmas here when I got home.  There was no way I could choose which one to try first so I got the hubby to do it and, of course, he picked the Metallic Red.

Now I know this brand is fairly cheap in America, but to be honest, if I hadn't bought them I probably wouldn't have guessed, the red is the only one I have tried properly but it applied so well, was opaque in 1 coat and the depth of colour is amazing, it dried to a very metallic, almost foil like finish.  All photos are with 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish and 1 of the Shield.

I cannot wait to try the rest of these colours and hope you are looking forward to seeing them :D xx

Nails Inc Autumn Winter Collection

Oh well, summer seems to have went by all too quickly, but the up side of this time of year is the new Autumn Winter collections......

Today I have for you Nails Inc AW Collection.  The colour I especially wanted to try from this collection was the red but it turns out all the colours are going to be great from autumn.

Since Charing Cross, which is a pure red gloss, was the one that caught my eye the most, I will show you that first.

All pictures are 1 coat of the Knight, 2 of the polish and no top coat.

I love this red polish!  I like red in general but this is so bright but not orangey at all.

Now we have Fenchurch Street, a this is a tan/brown polish that is very orangey at the same time, Nails Inc describe it as Russett.

This lovely colour but I always feel these neutral type colours are not very me, but I do really like this one on, I am sure for someone who likes this colour group, this is a must have.

Next we have Paddington which is a deep khaki grey.

I love grey polishes and this one was no exception.  It is quite a dark grey, but never looks black.

Lastly we have St Pancras which is a deep reddy brown.

In the bottle it looks more red but once on the nails it looks more brown and slightly redder depending on what light you are in, great colour.

To summarise, I love this collection, from the previous pictures I had seen, I wasn't sold on all of these but am so glad I tried them and I am sure they will get a lot of use over the next few months.

These products were sent to me for review.
